Fleet Management Limited, the manager of the tanker, Oil Carrier (110,000, 2010 built) report the vessel came into contact with a tanker at Western petroleum “B” anchorage Singapore at 0930 LT 29th September 2020. There were no injuries to the crew during the incident, however the vessel sustained damage to two starboard tanks above the waterline. The result of the breach has led to a significant amount of cargo lost into the sea. The MPA has been informed and the oil spill response was launched immediately to contain the spill. Fleet Management takes its environmental responsibilities extremely seriously and with partner agencies and contractors is making every effort to ensure the situation is controlled. The safely of the environment is a primary concern for the company and all the appropriate authorities have been contacted and are responding. Further information will provided when available.
