Fleet Management Limited, the manager of the oil tanker, Gulf Fanatir (45920 dwt, built 2008) reports a crew member was exposed to fumes during a routine inspection of the ballast tank whilst the vessel was on passage from Singapore to Ningbo at approx. 1800 LT 31 March 2021. A medivac was promptly arranged and the crew member is currently receiving medical care in hospital. The family of the seafarer has been contacted and is being kept closely updated. The exact cause of the incident is not known and will be fully investigated. All the relevant authorities have been informed and the incident has been reported to the P&I Club and insurers.
