Today we celebrate one year since the International Maritime Institute (IMI) became part of The Caravel Group. Over the past year, this partnership has brought fresh momentum and investment to develop future ready maritime professionals and clear career pathways with Fleet Management.
Strengthening Training and Career Pathways
Fleet Management’s global operations provide real-world exposure that anchors IMI’s training in practical experience and opens pathways into professional careers. This bond strengthens our talent pipeline and supports the capabilities we need to deliver safe, high quality and trusted maritime operations for our customers.
Over the past year IMI has welcomed more than 400 new students as pre-sea cadets, and supported many cadets as they transition into their sailing careers with Fleet Management. Upgrades across the training infrastructure and curriculum included the introduction of advanced simulator training, expanded digital learning resources and new modules focused on emerging developments in shipping such as alternative fuels, emissions awareness and digital navigation systems.

A Renewed Logo and Branding for the Next Chapter
To mark this milestone and IMI’s growing role within The Caravel Group, the Institute has unveiled a refreshed brand identity. The new logo honours IMI’s 35-year legacy while bringing it visually closer to Fleet Management through shared colours and design elements.
IMI’s new tagline — “Anchored in Maritime Excellence, Broadening Horizons” — reinforces IMI’s continued commitment to providing world-class maritime education and expanding opportunities for cadets to develop the technical skills and personal qualities needed to succeed in today’s maritime industry.
