Fleet Management Launches First Bespoke Procurement Training

While we remain deeply committed to developing our seafarers, we also actively support colleagues in onshore roles, especially those from non-traditional maritime backgrounds, to grow and thrive within our organisation.

Procurement is integral to how we deliver quality and cost-efficient operations. Our globally dispersed procurement team leads complex logistics and supplier relationships across multiple regions, ensuring that parts and services reach our vessels on time and within budget, all while delivering strong returns for both Fleet and our partners.

Recognising the unique needs of this high-performing team, Fleet Management has launched its first-ever bespoke procurement training programme. This two-year, structured development journey enables employees to build critical skills at their own pace, supporting both individual growth and organisational excellence. There are currently 121 active learners enrolled and progressing through the programme.

Specialised e-Learning Courses

Designed specifically for our onshore procurement professionals, the training covers 13 key disciplines which include negotiation, legal, finance, cost management, operational procurement, contract management, category management, strategy, project management, digital procurement, buying and merchandising, and sustainability. These disciplines are structured across four advancing skill levels.

The content is hands-on and scenario-based, helping learners develop practical, immediately applicable knowledge. Whether someone is new to the field or seeking to build on years of experience, the programme adapts to meet their needs.

Through this approach, we are not only strengthening core capabilities but also supporting career development and building a pipeline of procurement talent from within.
