Through August and September, colleagues around the world have been participating in cross-industry forums, attending workshops, and receiving awards for their contributions to maritime.

ReThink Hong Kong tackles green shipping solutions
Eleanor Cunningham, General Manager, Sustainability, joined a ReThink Hong Kong panel alongside industry peers to discuss “Green Shipping – Beyond the Panacea of Green Fuels.” The session explored pathways to maritime decarbonisation beyond alternative fuels alone, covering topics such as carbon capture, onboard innovations, and port collaboration. Eleanor emphasised the need for a multi-dimensional approach – integrating scalable technologies, strategic partnerships, and policy alignment – to drive long-term sustainability across the shipping industry.

Fleet Management visits the Joint Maritime Information Center, Bahrain
Mike Bradshaw, Director for Cyprus & Greece, Capt. Kuldeepak Sethi, General Manager, QHSE, and Burak Al, Manager, Tanker Operations, represented Fleet Management during a visit to the Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC) in Bahrain. The visit was a valuable opportunity to strengthen our relationship with JMIC and reinforce our shared commitment to maritime security, ultimately helping to safeguard the well-being of our seafarers.

Eleanor Cunningham, General Manager, Sustainability, joined a ReThink Hong Kong panel alongside industry peers to discuss “Green Shipping – Beyond the Panacea of Green Fuels.” The session explored pathways to maritime decarbonisation beyond alternative fuels alone, covering topics such as carbon capture, onboard innovations, and port collaboration. Eleanor emphasised the need for a multi-dimensional approach – integrating scalable technologies, strategic partnerships, and policy alignment – to drive long-term sustainability across the shipping industry.

Sharing best practices at GASTECH Milan, Post-MEPC 83 Decarbonisation Forum Hong Kong
Prakash Chandra, Director, Gas Tankers, represented Fleet Management at two key industry events focused on embedding low carbon solutions in shipping operations. At GASTECH in Milan, Prakash joined discussions on LNG, ammonia, hydrogen, and carbon capture and storage (CCS), contributing to the global conversation on energy transition. He also spoke at the Post-MEPC 83 Forum in Hong Kong, sharing insights on bunkering standards and advocating for the adoption of Mass Flow Meters to support shipping’s decarbonisation journey.

Recognised for excellence in training
Capt. Vinod Laxman Suryavanshi, Senior Manager of Training at Fleet Management Training Institute (FMTI), was honoured with the ‘Best Examiner for Mumbai Centre’ award by the Board of Examinations for Seafarers Trust. Capt. Suryavanshi was recognised for his dedicated service and outstanding contribution to seafarer training.
The Trust conducts examinations for GP Ratings courses on behalf of DG Shipping, playing a key role in upholding training standards across the industry

Fleet Management attended a psychological training session hosted by the Maritime Association of Shipowners, Ship Managers, and Agents (MASSA) in Mumbai. Representing Fleet were David D’Sylva and Shipra Jha from FMTI, joined by psychologist Simran Chahal and Capt. Parveen Ahlawat. The session focused on the importance of listening and how genuine communication builds trust, especially in safety-critical environments that seafarers encounter daily.
