Fleet Management has won the Best Practices in Diversity award at the Maritime SheEO Conference and Awards 2026, held in Mumbai.

Capt Deepak Correa, Swati Pillai and Divya Nair receive the Best Practices in Diversity award on behalf of Fleet Management at the Maritime SheEO Conference and Awards 2026.

The award recognises how Fleet supports women across the seafarer experience, from gender sensitisation training and equal pay for equal work to women-specific protective equipment, dedicated wellbeing support and platforms that raise the visibility of women’s careers in maritime.

Maritime SheEO brought together more than 500 maritime professionals and cadets. Aditi Garg, Group Legal Director at The Caravel Group, took to the stage in an opening keynote to explain how Fleet turns diversity into action through clear career pathways, equal opportunity and industry collaboration.

For Fleet, that action starts with talent. Talent takes years to nurture. Infrastructure can be built, technology can be developed and capital can be allocated, but a strong industry depends on its people. Diversity and inclusion are not a matter of quotas or representation alone. They widen opportunity and open shipping to the broadest possible pool of talent, and form part of the Encompass sustainability strategy under the Safeguarding People and Working Together pillars.

Captain Deepak Correa, Chief Operating Officer, Fleet Management India Operations, took the theme into the panel “She Owns. She Builds. She Invests.”, speaking on leadership and on managing talent in a technology-enhanced working environment. Senior leaders also met cadets from institutes across India in a closed-door session on leadership, mental wellbeing and training. Fleet also supported the event as Diversity Sponsor, and its booth welcomed more than 400 visitors, giving cadets the chance to meet maritime professionals from around the world.

No organisation can achieve industry-wide change alone. Improving women’s representation at sea takes shipowners, ship managers, training institutes, seafarers and industry partners working together to remove barriers and create fair routes to progression. Real progress means an industry where women can enter with confidence, work with dignity, advance on merit and build lasting careers at sea and onshore.

Fleet Management thanks its onboard and onshore teams and congratulates the other winners and finalists.
